I have been a Marriage Celebrant for twenty years and have been a celebrant trainer for the past nine years. I was one of only twelve trainers approved by the Attorney General’s Department after exhaustive examination, to present the three hour compulsory unit for the 2007/2008 year – “Establishing that the proposed marriage will be valid”.
I have pleasure in listing below the courses/products I offer to ensure that you can continue to be a professional Marriage Celebrant.

From the beginning I found AQT professional in the way that they presented themselves and processed my enrollment. With the guidance and support of Keith Lammond , the senior trainer at AQT, I have just completed my Certificate IV in Celebrancy. I have only the highest recommendation possible to offer, as the professional manner & delivery of the course content is excellent.
Keith provided ongoing support at the end of face-to-face tuition and ensured I gained a thorough understanding to become a competent Marriage Celebrant…………….Judith Meehan.
Keith was the perfect trainer, he groomed our small group into the well-trained, confident and ready celebrants we all hatched out to be. He was thorough in the topics he covered and gave us many personal tips that have proven to be invaluable in the hand-full of weddings that I have so far conducted.
I traveled to Sydney especially to take the course with AQT and Keith. After reading about him, my instinct told me it would be worth it; and it was. He arranged the timing of the course to suit me and even posted the books to me so I didn’t have to fly with them.
His follow up support has been the most help of all. Many curly questions arise as each wedding is a little bit different and he’s always ready at the end of the phone or email to answer any questions; which is invaluable in my opinion.
I highly recommend AQT and Keith Lammond to anyone looking to undertake the path to becoming a civil celebrant……. Kind Regards Klara McMurray – Melbourne
I had the great pleasure of attending a Civil Marriage Celebrants course with AQT in October 2013. It is something I’ve been contemplating for a couple of years, and as a result of a move from Brisbane to Sydney I had the opportunity to partake in the course.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course which only comprised of two students. I found it very interesting and challenging. It has helped me to gain personal confidence. The training during the course was exceptional, with the facilitator being most informative and open to questions. The ‘role play’ that was encouraged during the course was helpful with gaining understanding of each aspect of being a Civil Marriage Celebrant. I have to say that the inital administration by AQT was also excellent.
The ongoing assistance from the trainer during the weeks following the course to do the assessments required was exceptional. I was so inspired by the Civil Marriage Celebrants course I signed up immediately to do the Funeral Course.
I have now completed both, and am proud to say I am now a Civil Marriage Celebrant and a Funeral Celebrant and look forward to this new chapter in my life.
Thank you AQT and Keith Lammond for professional delivery and support. …. Vicki Hughes CMC – Queensland
I had just finished conducting my first wedding for about 150 people at a well known Sydney venue. The proprietor came up to tell me how much he liked the ceremony – it was wonderful, he said, one of the nicest that he had ever had at his venue. He went on to ask me: How many weddings do you do a year?
I confessed to him that he had just seen my first one. He seemed amazed, and said that he had presumed that I had “been a celebrant and doing weddings for years and years.”
The reason for that kind compliment was entirely due to the comprehensive and professional training I received from Australian Quality Training (AQT). From the moment I placed the call and spoke with Keith Lammond to enquire about doing a Certificate IV in Celebrancy, I was impressed. My protracted search for a comprehensive and reputable course to become qualified as a civil celebrant was finally over.
My enquiries were greeted with professionalism and courtesy. My many questions regarding what was required and involved in order to complete the course were answered in full. The five day face-to-face portion of the course was excellent. Course content was interesting, lively, and fun. It was also highly relevant, detailed, and comprehensive, covering just about every aspect of becoming a civil celebrant imaginable; from the various complex legal requirements, to interviewing techniques, to different cultural customs, to writing and performing wedding ceremonies.
Having a limit of six people per class enabled us to engage on a personal level, receive individual attention, and move at an intensive pace. Any and all questions were welcomed and answered.
The manuals supplied with the course are terrific resources for new celebrants, and have proven to be invaluable assets for my work.
Since becoming appointed, and as I continue to conduct more weddings and other ceremonies, it is wonderful to know that experienced, expert, advice is still available to me should I need it.
One of my classmates had travelled all the way from Victoria to do the course with AQT. We have remained in touch, and she still repeatedly remarks how glad she was to have done so, despite other options for study having been available to her at home in Melbourne.
Support for the ongoing individual course work required by students to do on their own was readily available. Contact with the instructor was encouraged. Any question or concern I had was clearly answered, and the response time was swift.
Subsequently, I chose to also complete the AQT course designed for preparing, writing, and conducting a funeral ceremony. This course was conducted with equal professionalism, compassion, and once again with comprehensive attention to information, performance, and detail.
My experience training with AQT was rewarding and productive, and remains so to this day in my career as a civil celebrant…… Jill Player Cotton Civil Marriage Celebrant
Funeral Celebrant Training
SIFFFNL10 “Plan and Conduct a Funeral Ceremony”
My funeral courses are held at Burwood (Sydney) but I am more than willing to arrange training outside of Sydney if numbers permit. So if you have some friends and would like to perhaps arrange for me to do that please let me know. The Funeral Ceremony course is three days, two days in the classroom and a day in the field. That day in the field involves a visit to a crematorium for a tour behind the scenes. The knowledge of this helps you to answer the questions often asked by grieving families who worry about bodies being taken out of coffins etc. We then borrow a chapel where students perform a mock funeral which they have put together based on a scenario we provide. Whenever possible we video your service and then review itaccordingly. Many courses are over two days (some a few hours) but there is no pracrtical held within the environment where we work. You cannot learn this important trade in the front lounge of someone’s home, or over a few hours at the end of another course. This work is too sensitive for short cuts!
This course is a Nationally Recognised Training course. The unit covered is from Certificate IV in Celebrancy CHC42608. This one unit of competency (UOC) can be used towards Cert IV in Celebrancy or as part of an RPL process if upgrading your current marriage celebrants qualification.
The following dates have been set aside. Please note that there will be a maximum of six person on the course.
Proposed dates: (Subject to minimum numers being obtained)
Monday 5th to Wednesday 7th January 2015l:
Monday 9th to Wednesday11th February 2015:
If you do not tell us of your interest and where you are we can’t help you. If you can get six colleagues to be interested then call me to discuss how I can help.
I am writing to thank you for preparing and delivering such a comprehensive and fulfilling funeral course. From the beginning of the course right through to the completion you made the content of the course interesting and engaging. Always answering our questions with no judgement even when sometimes the answers were obvious. Your explanations were always thorough and helpful.
Our field trip to the Rookwood Crematorium and afterwards at the graveside, even though a little daunting was extremely interesting. Being able to perform our sample service in an actual Chapel has given me further insight.
I feel that now I will be able to perform a funeral service knowing that my training has given me the important tools that I will practice and perfect.
I would not hesitate in recommending this course to anyone aspiring to become a Funeral Celebrant. Much appreciation for all your guidance. …….. Yvonne Byrne
I found both your Marriage and Funeral Celebrancy courses to be of superior standard. The knowledge and experience you’ve gained over the years was delivered in a well organised, professional manner. Because of this, there was no wasted time and the course material was covered in detail. The atmosphere was relaxed and I found it very enjoyable. You’ve also been extremely supportive in your ‘after course’ support. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your services and will certainly be joining your Professional Development courses in 2014.
regards Jacqui Moloney
“I have had the privilege of being one of Keith students when I attended a Funeral Celebrants course approximately 3 years ago and last year when I completed my Cert IV in celebrancy. In my opinion these courses were the best investments both financially and personally that I have made.
Keith’s vast knowledge and experience in all areas of celebrancy is reflected in his ability to convey the different requirements and skills needed by a celebrant.
He was very approachable when I required extra assistance and his sense of humour accompanied by his passion and dedication to celebrancy helped in his deliverance of the various course material which made it easier for me to absorb.
I have and would highly recommend Keith as a teacher and mentor as to me he is the epitome of what being a celebrant is all about – professional, trustworthy, compassionate and most of all dedicated.” Carolyn Wilson (NSW)
Celebrant Refresher Training
Many celebrants are being trained today in classes that exceed twenty and even up to sixty. They are being trained by trainers who have little, and in many cases no, experience as a Marriage Celebrant. Their full initial training is being crammed into two and a half days and that half day is spent looking at other things other than marriage celebrant responsibilities. After that they are expected to complete all their assignments without much support.
We are planning a two day week-end refresher workshop (Dates to be confirmed). The first day will be spent entirely on our legal responsibilities, interviewing couples and the legal content of marriage ceremonies, annulment, correct use of interpreters, is the marriage going to be valid – pitfalls to look out for and anything else you want. On the Sunday we will be conducting wedding ceremonies, choreography, use of PA systems and everyone will have a chance to be involved.
The good news is that it will not only be Keith Lammond. I have been joined in this course by another well known and respected marriage celebrant and celebrant trainer, Ann Dally who will bring a great contribution from a female point of view. You will go away with many great ideas as Ann and I vary in many ways in the way that we operate but our experience and skills are unquestionable.
Some comments from previous sessions include, “I have learned more today than I did in my entire course”.
On-going Professional Development Training (OPD)
I am delighted to advise that I will be a part of the training team for the International College of Celebrancy for On-going Professional Development for 2014 so I hope to see you at one of our presentation. Existing celebrants will be recieving information in regards to this training. Visit www.celebrancy.com
Personal One on One Training
I appreciate that group refreshers are not everyone’s cup of tea. I am also available at an hourly rate to conduct one-on-one refresher training with any individual. This would be a minimum of four hours and can be conducted at your home or my office.
This software package is very popular with celebrants all over Australia. Not only can you overprint your Marriage Certificates (Form 15) professionally you can also overprint any other certificate such as baby naming/re-affirmation/commitment etc. You can use any font that exists within your computer and once the settings as saved they are saved. For those living outside of NSW I also have MarriageCertprint available to print the Certificate of Marriage (form 16) and the Declarations on the reverse (Form 14) which saves a lot of writing. If you do not need a full on data based system why spend $400 just to print your certificates!
Improve Your Presentation
These are personalised folders in which you can present your marriage/naming/re-affirmation/commitment certificates or copies of your wedding ceremony or funeral service to your couple or bereaved family. These are a must to see. They can be printed on your own computer/printer and the personalised way is only limited by your imagination. They are cost effective and are not available anywhere other than through Keith Lammond. Contact me for a free sample to try out.
A5 Presentation Folder in Burgandy or White
Many exisiting celebrants struggle with large folders when conducting marriage ceremonies. A5 size folders are hard to source, especially at a reasonable cost. This folder is available in burgandy or white and is a wonderful size for comfortability and ease of handling during the ceremony. I print my ceremonies up in two columns and landscape orientation. Once printed you can fold and insert into the sleeves of the folder. There are twelve sleeves in the folder so plenty for a couple of weddings in a day!
Cost of folders $33 inclusive of GST plus $4.50 p&p
